Seawater Solutions

Seawater Solutions, in partnership with Regenerative Resources, is working to reforest 240 hectares in the Songhor Lagoon and Keta regions of Ghana, where climate change and sea level rise threaten to devastate mangrove habitats. Terraformation has supported the organization in establishing two native tree nurseries and planting 60,000 trees, with the goal of planting 200,000 total. Since March 2022, Regenerative Resources has employed 60 community members in its restoration efforts — 90% of whom are women.

Terraformation is providing three off-grid, modular seed banks to help Eden Reforestation Projects restore 40 sites across Kenya.

The organization planted 11 million trees in the country in 2022 alone and is rapidly scaling its work. Eden’s country teams work in remote settings through a range of challenges, from extreme weather and landslides to poachers and wild animals.

Eden works closely with local communities and the government of Kenya to tackle deforestation and establish healthy, biodiverse forests.
